Balazs Feher is an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and an Affiliate Faculty Member at the Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Harvard University. He further holds an affiliation as Senior Lecturer in Oral Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna.

The Feher Lab conducts research at the intersection of applied artificial intelligence and dental medicine and related disciplines, with specific emphasis on prognostic modeling and clinical decision support.

Feher is the current Chair of the European Association for Osseointegration’s Junior Committee, a Contributor to the ITU/WHO/WIPO Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence for Health (Topic Group Dentistry), and a Member of the International Team for Implantology Foundation’s Research Council as well as its AI Steering Group.

He holds a DMD and a PhD from the Medical University of Vienna, where he completed his graduate research under the supervision of Reinhard Gruber and trained as a postgraduate assistant in oral surgery before earning the venia docendi in dental medicine. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Oral Surgery.

He joined Harvard on an Osteology Research Scholarship and completed a postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of William V. Giannobile and Magda Feres before being appointed to the Faculty of Medicine.
